Pricing Philosophy

AuthShepherd is priced like a migration outcome, not a subscription. Most teams use it for a one-time migration (or a small number of migrations), so we price based on what it takes to get you safely from A to B.

Most migrations start in the low four figures and scale with complexity, user volume, and risk.

How pricing works

We price based on migration complexity, not seat licenses

Pricing reflects the risk, complexity, and effort required to run your migration safely. No per-seat fees, no recurring SaaS subscription just to move users from one provider to another.

User base size

Total users, active users, and how concentrated your activity is. A small but highly active user base has different operational risk than a large mostly-dormant one.

Strategy complexity

Bulk password reset, guided reset, JIT migration, or a hybrid approach. Simpler, one-shot migrations are priced differently from staged or multi-strategy rollouts.

Identity complexity

Social logins, multiple identities per user, custom claims, and legacy rules all add to the surface area. We account for this up front so there are no surprises in the middle of a cutover.

Integrations & callbacks

Local database sync, webhooks, custom domains, email deliverability, and monitoring all affect scope. The quote reflects the integrations needed to keep your apps in sync.

What's included

Designed for safe, observable migrations

Every engagement includes the core capabilities teams need to run a high-risk identity migration with confidence.

  • Dry-run and readiness report
  • Subset testing / partial runs
  • Rate-limit aware background job execution (batching, retries, backoff)
  • Migration logs, audit trail, and post-migration report
  • Email templates + custom domain support (when applicable)
  • Optional callbacks/webhooks for syncing app user DB records
Engagement options

Pick the level of help you need

These are engagement models, not subscription tiers. Most teams use AuthShepherd for a specific migration window, then turn it off once they're safely on the new provider.

Self-serve

Tool access, documentation, and minimal guidance. Best for teams with in-house experience running migrations who want a safer, more observable platform.

Guided

Tool access plus onboarding, a migration plan review, and check-ins at key milestones. Good fit for teams that want a second set of eyes on a high-risk project.

Hands-on

We work alongside your team to design, run, and monitor the migration. Suited for complex estates, regulated environments, or when internal capacity is limited.
